The Southern Shrimp Alliance is saddened to share the news of the passing of Dr. Benny Gallaway of LGL Ecological Research Associates. Dr. Gallaway was a respected scientist, a dedicated partner in fisheries research, and a long-time supporter of efforts to protect and sustain the Gulf of Mexico’s shrimp industry.
His contributions to fisheries science and his commitment to working collaboratively with industry, agencies, and researchers have left a lasting impact on our community. Dr. Gallaway’s expertise, integrity, and friendship will be deeply missed.
We extend our sincere condolences to his family, colleagues at LGL Ecological, and all who had the privilege of working with him.
