PreGel America Assistant Pastry Chef & Instructor Finalist In 24th Annual US Pastry Competition

PreGel AMERICA Assistant Pastry Chef & Instructor Ben Shelton, is among one of 14 selected finalists to compete in the 24th Annual U.S. Pastry Competition presented by Paris Gourmet, on Sunday, March 3, 2013, at the International Restaurant and Foodservice Show of New York. Shelton will contend for the esteemed title of Pastry Chef of the Year 2013. The event will be held at New York City's Jacob Javits Convention Center.
The U.S. Pastry Competition is one of America's most prestigious pastry competitions. The event allows leading pastry chefs to showcase their talents by creating advanced dessert and chocolate bonbon recipes exhibited along with highly technical sugar and chocolate sculpted showpieces. This year's showpiece theme is Women.
Board members of the Societe Culinaire Philanthropique, one of the oldest and most prestigious chef associations in the world, preside over the judging procedures. The awards ceremony will take place in the pastry competition arena that Sunday, where contest awards totaling over $10,000.00 will be distributed.
