Daffodil Fundraiser For American Cancer Society Returns In 2011

They won’t be coming up in flowerbeds anytime soon, but daffodils usually are the first flowers to bloom each spring.
That’s why the bright yellow flower is the American Cancer Society’s symbol of hope in the fight against cancer.
The society is now accepting orders for daffodil arrangements for its annual Daffodil Days fundraiser. American Cancer Society volunteers will take orders for daffodils through Feb. 17. The flowers will be available in Pottawattamie County the week of March 7-11.
The event has been held locally for more than 15 years, said Arian Haddix, the society’s community relations representative for southwest Iowa.
