Importers from Brazil and the United States came to the O’Higgins Region to experience the peony market firsthand. The initiative, financed by the O’Higgins Regional Government’s Innovation Fund for Competitiveness (FIC) and organized by the regional office of ProChile, sought to open new markets and strengthen the internationalization of this sector.

In addition to the field visits to learn about production, a business roundtable was held with the participation of six regional companies: Exportadora Triofrut Ltda., El Rosario SpA, Comercializadora Picaflores SpA, Santa Petra, Las Roldanas, and Agrícola Rayenmapu.

A historic opportunity for regional floriculture

“This visit marks a turning point for O’Higgins flower producers. It’s the first time importers of this level have come to our region, directly invited by the Regional Government through ProChile. It represents a real opportunity for peony producers to become direct exporters to important markets such as Brazil and the United States,” said Sofía Silva, Regional Director of ProChile O’Higgins.
