Multi-Million Dollar Expansion Planned At Pearl City Eggs

PEARL CITY –A Stephenson county farm that’s been bringing fresh eggs to our community for nearly 30 years plans a massive expansion.

Owner David Thompson started Pearl Valley Eggs in Pearl City back in 1987. There were two barns and a handful of workers. The company has grown to 11 barns with more than a millions hens, and has more than 100 employees. Thompson now plans a $15 million addition to his farm which will mean 20 to 30 new jobs over 4 years and 4 new barns, including for cage free hens.

"I love the egg industry, it’s interesting, it’s fun,” says Pearl City Eggs Owner David Thompson. “We are looking forward to offering our product to customers as a one stop egg shop."
