Mushroom Council Announces Request For Proposals
March 13, 2015 | 2 min to read
San Jose, CA – The Mushroom Council has announced its intent to request proposals designed to support growth of fresh mushroom demand through their new Meat and Mushroom Blend concept (The Blend). Blended burgers and other products are quickly being adopted by foodservice and retail operators and the time is right to stimulate consumer awareness, interest, and trial. The Council has a multi-year strategy in place and is looking for a partner to support the consumer facing part of the plan.
The Council’s request for proposals is comprehensive. The industry is interested in pursuing an aggressive program of consumer public relations combined with retail and foodservice promotion and communications. The focus of the campaign will be on action to drive trial and sales.
“The Blend offers a great tasting and healthier burger, without sacrifice or compromise”, suggests Bart Minor, Mushroom Council President, “To our target consumer, The Blend will be seen as a surprising, welcome, and easy solution that requires very little actual change in behavior. It lets them feel good about eating a little healthier, while allowing them to continue to eat some of their favorite foods..”
Consumer, retail and foodservice promotion and communication agencies interested in responding to the Council’s request for proposals are encouraged to contact the Mushroom Council via email at Bart@mushroomcouncil.org or call 408 432-7210
