Atlanta – Affairs to Remember Caterers, Atlanta’s first Zero Waste Zones caterer and one of the largest privately held off-premise luxury caterers in the United States, today announced that Executive Chef Ahmad Nourzad has been selected for the prestigious honor of serving as a Georgia Grown Executive Chef.
At last night’s annual Taste of Georgia Legislative Reception, with Governor Nathan Deal in attendance, Georgia Department of Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black announced the newest Georgia Grown Executive Chefs for the coming year, the program’s second year.
They include:
Chef Linton Hopkins, Restaurant Eugene/Holeman & Finch;
Chef David Snyder, Tramici and Halyard’s;
Chef Jennifer Hill Booker, Your Resident Gourmet; and
Chef Ahmad Nourzad, Affairs to Remember Caterers.
The Georgia Grown Executive Chef Program offers Georgia-based chefs the platform to share their commitment to sustainability and buying local—tenets of Georgia Grown’s mission—throughout the State of Georgia.
General Manager Patrick Cuccaro, Governor Nathan Deal, Executive Chef Ahmad Nourzad
Executive Chef Ahmad Nourzad said, “It’s a great honor to represent Georgia Grown, especially in the company of great chefs like Linton, David, and Jennifer. I’m excited about coming into this already aligned with Georgia Grown’s mission. In fact, we launched a ‘farm-to-party’ offering for our clients last year that focuses on seasonal, local ingredients.”
Chef Ahmad will create awareness of the benefits of buying local thus promoting the relationships between Georgia farmers and local chefs, as well as consumers. Chef Ahmad will be actively promoting Georgia Grown throughout the year at various events and online.
General Manager Patrick Cuccaro said, “When we launched our Legacy Green program in 2009, which includes a ‘source local’ aspect, Chef Ahmad immediately and fully embraced the initiative. Today, he continues to educate our culinary team and our clients on the benefits of buying local. We’re proud to have such an enlightened executive chef at Affairs to Remember, and now representing Georgia Grown.”
Georgia Grown is a program of the Georgia Department of Agriculture, and the Taste of Georgia Legislative Reception is hosted by the Georgia Restaurant Association.
