CMI Fruit Announces New Sales Hire

Wenatchee, WA – Columbia Marketing International today announced the appointment of Shane Marston to the sales team, effective November 10, 2014. 

Marston has accumulated over 20 years of experience in the produce industry specializing in retail, management, buying, and most recently selling produce.  As the Director of Sales for the Progressive Produce NW Division, Shane handled over 70% of yearly sales.  Prior to Progressive Produce, Marston was the Produce Director for Unified Grocers of Seattle. 

“Shane has a well-balanced background of working with both growers and retailers to create a win-win situation in which both parties are obtaining profitable results.  We look for Shane to drive programs forward and to continually improve the service we provide to the retail community, said Steve Castleman, CMI Domestic Sales Manager.

Marston’s vast experience both with Progressive Produce, and with Kroger, where he served for 14 years in multiple positions, last as a senior buyer, will greatly enhance his sales capabilities at CMI.  Marston also brings to CMI a wealth of legislative and regulatory experience, through his experience serving as a board member for the Washington State Potato and Onion Association.
