AMSTERDAM – FloraHolland, the world's largest flower auction house, on Tuesday said results appeared to be improving in the first months of 2010 after a difficult year of weak trade markets for the industry.
Auction revenue rose 7 percent in the first four months of the year, it said in a statement, in part on higher average proceeds for flower growers.
The company said in January that sales fell 5 percent in 2009, as price declines offset stable volumes. Unit sales fell 1 percent year-on-year, as sales of cut flowers plunged but turnover grew in room and garden plants.
