Thomas Fresh is welcoming retail industry veteran, Michèle McMillan, in the newly created role of Director of National Accounts as the company continues to expand and evolve.
“I am honoured and excited to be joining the Thomas Fresh Team as we strive to grow the business across Canada. I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead of me as I embark on the next stage of my career with this great Canadian company” shares McMillan.
With 37 years of industry experience, McMillan comes from a multitude of roles including Operations Management, and Category/Procurement Management across the retail landscape on behalf of two major Canadian grocery retailers. Most recently, she held the position of Director of Private Label Procurement for Bakery/Deli/Home Meal Replacement/Produce/Grocery Non-Food at Sobeys.
“We are pleased to welcome Michèle into our Thomas Fresh family. Her deep industry knowledge and dynamic experience in program development will be of significant value to Thomas Fresh on a national level” observes Roy Hinchey, CEO of Thomas Fresh.
Michèle brings great passion and mentorship, as she has held a position on the Canadian Produce Marketing Association board for 8 years, where she actively participated on several committees. McMillan has also recently become involved in the CPMA Passion for Produce program – an education and mentoring program to assist young professionals working in the produce industry.
Her desire to help others succeed extends beyond the produce industry, with her consistent involvement in community causes. McMillan has played a role on the Board of the Mississauga Food Bank and for the past 10 years has cycled in the Ride for Heart, raising a whopping $110,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
“The future looks bright for Thomas Fresh – our passionate and dedicated team has gained another fantastic addition.” – Hinchey shares.
