Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, a growing Downers Grove, Illinois-based chain of specialty grocery stores, has brought aboard two executives to fill key positions in the company.
Mark Doiron is joining the company as chief merchandising officer. Carol Okamato has been named chief financial officer. The executive additions come in the wake of the news that Fresh Thyme has signed on as a partner in the Amazon Prime Now grocery delivery service in the Chicago market.
Fresh Thyme joined the Amazon Prime project just before news broke earlier this month that Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) plans to acquire Whole Foods Market(NASDAQ: WFM), a competitor of Fresh Thyme in the Chicago area. Fresh Thyme CEO Chris Sherrell declined comment about the Whole Foods development and how it might impact Fresh Thyme's new relationship with Amazon.
