Green Seafoods Ltd. Strengthens Mussel Operation

Green Seafoods Ltd. is launching a value-added mussel development project with the aid of $18,000 from the provincial government's Fisheries Technology and New Opportunities Program.
Jennifer Green-Sheppard, marketing manager for the Winterton, Trinity South-based seafood processor, says the company is "very committed to developing the aquaculture side of our business," addding, "we have to keep our plant modern and well-equipped to meet market demands and customer expectations.
The company will evaluate current processes and procedures, examine new ways to meet market specifications, and review existing equipment and advanced technologies.
"It is very important that we continue to meet the standards of buyers to provide quality products to retain and expand markets for our province's farmed mussel sector," said Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister Clyde Jackman.
