Procacci Bros. Recognized At National Migrant & Seasonal Head Start Conference For Contributions To Internship Program

Philadelphia, PA – Procacci Brothers Sales Corporation and their affiliated growing operations, Ag-Mart Produce Inc. and Gargiulo Inc., recently received special recognition from the National Migrant & Seasonal Head Start Association (NMSHSA) for their continued support of the NMSHSA’s Summer Internship Program. The presentation was made at the NMSHSA’s biannual conference in Tysons Corner, VA.

The NMSHSA internship program brings together high-achieving former Migrant & Seasonal Head Start students that are currently enrolled in college. Each summer, young leaders travel to Washington, D.C. to take part in the intensive 7-week curriculum. The program is designed to cultivate personal and professional growth, while connecting students with experiences, relationships, professional contacts and career opportunities that will propel them towards future successes. The program has a strong track record of leading to various employment opportunities at non-profit organizations, federal agencies and other positions on Capitol Hill.

“The National Migrant & Seasonal Head Start Association has had such a positive impact on the lives of our farm workers and so many other farm workers nationwide. It’s truly an honor to have the opportunity to support their fantastic internship program. The internship exemplifies the impact that NMSHSA programs have had on establishing the building blocks of success for the children of migrant workers,” said Procacci Brothers’ director of corporate communications and social responsibility, Lou Struble.

During the presentation, members of NMSHSA’s board of directors (William Castellanos, John Menditto, and Cleo Rodriguez Jr.) presented Procacci Brothers with a framed photograph from acclaimed artist Celia Roberts’ portfolio of photographs that celebrates the grace and dignity of migrant farm workers.
