BRAWLEY — Expectations that One World Beef will purchase National Beef and commence operations this fall are still anticipated but no precise date has been given when the reopening will take place.
One World Beef maintains its current position of due diligence process is ongoing, Jason Zara, executive director of the Brawley Chamber of Commerce, noted. Negotiations to complete the sale of National Beef to One World Beef and ramp up operations had been anticipated by this month. It is possible the sale could be finalized before the end of the year but it is more likely now to happen next spring, Zara indicated.
In a previous article the Imperial Valley Press reported in August that due diligence included a thorough analysis of costs, impacts and assessment of what will be needed to get the operation up and running.
