Florida’s Thriving Horticulture Industry to Host Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE) 2026, the Global Marketplace for Tropical Plant Trends and Innovation

Ft. Lauderdale, FL — Florida’s horticulture industry continues to surge, generating nearly $42 billion in activity in 2023 and employing more than 279,000 people, according to a new report from Farm Credit of Central Florida. The blueprint for how Florida has become one of the world’s most influential hubs for foliage, floral and tropical plants will be on full display in January at the 2026 Tropical Plant International Expo (TPIE).
Taking place January 21–23 at the Broward County Convention Center in Ft. Lauderdale, TPIE is the industry’s premier tradeshow—where horticulture professionals come to do business. Buyers and suppliers meet face-to-face, discover new products before they hit the broader market, and forge partnerships that drive revenue all year long and beyond. It’s where the newest trends surface—and where they are showcased through high-impact displays and products, ready for interiorscapers, designers, and retailers nationwide.
“TPIE is where the people who shape the nursery and greenhouse industry come together from around the world,” said Tal Coley, chief executive officer of the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA), the association which produces TPIE. “You can feel the energy the moment you walk in — ideas being shared, new and unique products showcased, partnerships forming and innovation taking root. When thousands gather with that kind of purpose, it strengthens the industry and shows up across our economy, workforce and communities.”
New for TPIE 2026 will be an expanded trade show floor with 1,100 booth spaces to explore from over 450 companies. Also, next door to the Broward County Convention Center, the newly opened Omni Fort Lauderdale will provide an elevated opportunity for after-show meetups, offering waterfront views and modern meeting spaces.
TPIE will also feature 18 targeted education sessions, including a new, all-day palm care workshop, to help attendees elevate their skills, spark new ideas, and connect with international professionals. Session topics will include strategic planning to drive growth in a global marketplace, garden center best practices, and interiorscape innovation. On Tuesday, Jan. 20, the day prior to the show opening, attendees can join the TPIE Road Show and tour some of South Florida’s leading wholesale nurseries.
Registration is now open. Register by January 6 for best pricing at the year’s must-attend industry event. For more information and the schedule of events, visit www.tpie.org.
