Four Tours to Come this Fall from New York, Pennsylvania

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – American Dairy Association North East is offering four free Virtual Farm Tours this fall, hosted by dairy farmers in New York and Pennsylvania.

Dairy farmers and industry representatives are encouraged to share the tour information with their local schools to help increase viewership. The tours have drawn more than 850,000 views since the program began in 2018.

The fall dates and hosts are:
October 10 – Aurora-Oakwood Dairy, Auburn, N.Y.
October 30– Adirondack Farms, Plattsburgh, N.Y.

November 25 – Creekside Dairy, Chambersburg, Pa.

December 8 – CoBar Dairy, Mount Upton, N.Y.

The tours offer two sessions, along with free lesson plans, on the same day at each farm, including:

  • For Grades 6-12 – A deep dive tour that focuses on how farms use technology and experts to provide care for their animals and the land.
  • For Pre-K- Grade 5 – A general tour that covers three primary areas on the farm – where calves live, where cows live, and where cows are milked.

The free teacher-developed student lesson plans meet Common Core Standards for elementary, middle and high school classes.

Offered in real time, the tours allow students and teachers to ask the farmers questions.
