Despite the ongoing economic turbulence in global markets, WPS has once again proven its resilience and innovative power by securing two groundbreaking contracts in the past two weeks. With this, WPS confirms its position as a forerunner in automation within horticulture and plant research.

Spring Meadow Invests in Automated Delivery System

The Dutch market leader in horticultural technology has acquired the very first automated delivery system for ornamental plants on the North American horticultural market.

This milestone demonstrates that WPS is expanding its presence in North America, moving beyond logistics solutions (internal transport). The automated delivery system, which sorts plants and delivers selected orders to packing stations instead of manually moved by employees, will be installed at Spring Meadow Nursery in Michigan.

This project illustrates the strong demand for advanced automation solutions across the Atlantic to address labor issues and is an important step toward “hands-free” plant production. In addition, the system will also be used for e-commerce purposes, which is a new application area for WPS automation in North America. This custom-built system improves labor productivity and efficiency by optimizing plant transportation and delivery — critical challenges in the rapidly growing North American horticulture market.
