Continental Sausage Earns National Accolades With 2014 Good Food Award

Denver, Colorado — Continental Sausage, a Colorado-based, European-style gourmet sausage producer for more than 40 years, has recently been awarded the 2014 Good Food award for its popular bison pastrami. The Good Food Awards honor companies that create food products with real, local ingredients and respect for animals through economically and socially sustainable practices.

“We strive to provide a product that is better than anything else people can buy, while maintaining our handcrafted process and helping out local family farms,” said CEO Eric Gutknecht. “Food is definitely best when it’s truly all natural and we’re proud to be able to say all our products are all natural.”

Seedling Projects organized the Good Food Awards with the help of food producers, farmers, food journalists and independent grocers. This year’s winners were selected from 1,450 entries from all 50 states in a Blind Tasting held in September. The 225 judges, experts in their various industries, flew to San Francisco for a full day of blind tasting. Those that rose to the top were subject to a rigorous vetting process to verify they met the sustainability and social responsibility criteria to win a Good Food Award. This year’s Good Food Award winners exemplify excellence in both taste and responsible production. For more information on the Good Food Awards, visit: http://www.goodfoodawards.org/the-awards.
