Prairie Farms Dairy Announces New Chief Operating Officer

Prairie Farms Dairy announced today the promotion of Chris Hackman as its Chief Operating Officer. Hackman currently serves as Senior Vice President of Operations, and on April 1, he will succeed Gary Aggus, who has served as COO since 2006. In February, Aggus announced that he would step down from the position. 

Prairie Farms Dairy Honors Ed Mullins for 42 Years of Service

After a 42-year career with Prairie Farms Dairy, industry executive Ed Mullins retired on December 31, 2022. This followed his decision in late 2021 to step down as Chief Executive Officer/Executive Vice President to assume a new role as Senior Executive Officer in 2022.

Prairie Farms Dairy and its joint venture partner, Hiland Dairy, won over 40 awards at the QCS Purchasing Cooperative Annual Leadership Conference in San Diego. In October, QCS members from around the country gathered for educational sessions, networking events, and an awards celebration to honor member and supply partner companies.

Prairie Farms Dairy and its family of companies received more awards than any other company, making Prairie Farms the reigning contest champion. The final tally came in at 44 awards with 12 first-place wins, 11 secondplace wins, 19 third-place wins, 1 Grand Champion win, and sweeping wins in several categories.

American Cheese Society Honors Prairie Farms with Eight Awards

Five Prairie Farms’ cheese plants were among the top winners of the American Cheese Society Judging and Competition, the largest event of its kind for American-made cheeses. The award ceremony was held during the 39th Annual American Cheese Society Conference in Portland, Oregon, on July 20-23. This year’s competition featured cheeses from 196 companies with over 1,400 entries competing in 120 categories and tested by an esteemed panel of 30 judges.
