Kowalski’s started in St. Paul in 1983, when the family-owned grocery operation opened its first location on Grand Avenue. The Grand Avenue store recently underwent a major remodel in an effort to keep up with changing shopping habits.

The store’s layout has changed and more grab-and-go offerings have been added to accommodate busy lifestyles. A made-to-order pasta bar and hot carver station are new, and offerings in the popular sushi, bulk goods, deli, cheese, meat and seafood departments have been expanded.

More new additions include a Starbucks counter at the front of the store, a second-floor seating area and an adjoining wine, craft beer and spirits shop.
