Milford Valley Names 2015 ‘Art Of Chicken’ Contest Winners

MILFORD, IND. – Milford Valley has selected the winning entries in the 2015 “Art of Chicken” Photo Contest. The contest, which ran from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, 2015, challenged entrants from across the country to use chicken product packaging in unique creations that captured the Milford Valley brand. Photographs of the creations were then submitted to the company’s Facebook page for judging.

Taking the Grand Prize of $5,000 was Patrice Hurd, of Bemidji, Minnesota, for her ‘Our Favorite Lovebirds Tie the Knot’ design, featuring a wedding cake made from Milford Valley packaging with Chips the chicken on top. A creation dubbed, ‘Take the Time to Stop and Eat the Chicken,’ by Amy Baker, Terrell, Texas, earned her $1,000 for second place. The entry is a Milford Valley-themed cuckoo clock.

The third place award of $500 went to April Morrison, Whitmore Lake, Michigan, for her ‘Winner! Winner! Milford Valley Chicken Dinner!’ a slot machine decorated with Milford Valley packaging. Garnering the most public votes, earned Tina Demarco, of Pompano Beach, Florida, the $250 People’s Choice prize for her entry, ‘Welcome to the Milford Valley County Fair.’

All entries were judged on representation of the Milford Valley brand and/or Milford Valley products, as well as creativity and originality.

“Contest submissions this year were very creative,” said Carmen Darland, Milford Valley’s director of marketing. “Turning product packaging into works of art takes time and talent. We enjoy seeing the creations and appreciate the customer interaction with the brand.”
