Beardstown, Illinois — Employees for JBS meat-processing plant in Beardstown, Illinois are picketing after they say the company is going back on contract agreements.
The United Food and Commercial Workers District Local Union 431 President Simplice M. Kuelo said it’s over a disagreement about the attendance policy.
“We live here. We work here. We deserve a better attendance policy,” said Kuelo.
The union wants employees to be allowed six points before disciplinary action is taken, and a point gets erased after 45 days of perfect attendance.
