Patrick Cudahy Set To Launch 'Say Hey To Summer' Campaign

CUDAHY, Wis.  — It's time for bacon lovers to get excited. Summer is here and Patrick Cudahy is packing loads of crackling fun into everyone's favorite season. During July and August, Wisconsin will become a hotbed of bacon-filled activities, including the "Patrick Cudahy, Free Bacon Sweepstakes," the third-annual "Patrick Cudahy Race for the Bacon" and "Patrick Cudahy Bacon Lover's Day" at the Wisconsin State Fair. The activities are part of Patrick Cudahy's "Say Hey to Summer" campaign, which focuses on sharing fun and excitement with its loyal bacon-loving fans.

"Patrick Cudahy has a lot in store for our consumers this summer," said Bud Matthews, Senior Vice President, Patrick Cudahy, LLC. "We love summer time and have plenty of events and activities for families to celebrate the season with us. There will be no shortage of fun for bacon lovers. Everything we do, it's our way of saying 'thank you' to everyone who supports us. We appreciate their patronage and we want to make every effort to make it their best summer yet."

The "Say Hey to Summer" campaign is a multi-faceted social media, advertisement, promotional and public relations program that is being executed throughout July and August. Beginning on July 4, Patrick Cudahy is celebrating the season by giving away a year's supply (52 coupons) of free sweet apple-wood smoked bacon. The "Patrick Cudahy, Free Bacon Sweepstakes" will be hosted on Patrick Cudahy's Facebook page and reward one consumer per week for eight weeks.

The summer fun continues on July 31. Patrick Cudahy is returning as primary sponsor of the "Race for the Bacon" in Cudahy, Wis. The event is the third-annual installment of America's most sizzling 5k run and walk and benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Once again, Patrick Cudahy will give away the tastiest finishing prize in all of sports. The first 125 finishers will receive a package of Patrick Cudahy fully-cooked bacon as an extra incentive to cross the finish line.

Additionally, Patrick Cudahy will continue its sponsorship of "Bacon Lover's Day" at the Wisconsin State Fair, a tradition since 1988. Fair goers that stop by its display will receive recipe cards, product samples and a chance to spin the famous Patrick Cudahy prize wheel. Fair favorites Chef Brian Moran and the Sweet Apple-Wood Quartet are returning for live on-stage performances throughout the day. The company will also have its "Say Hey Patrick Cudahy" photo booth available for free photo ops.

Patrick Cudahy, part of the John Morrell Food Group, a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods, will have all event information, special offers, as well as summer recipes, on its website www.PatrickCudahy.com and Facebook page www.facebook.com/patrickcudahymeats.
