Mexican conglomerate Alfa said it acquired Arizona meat processing company Bar-S Foods Co to boost its presence in the U.S. market. Terms were not disclosed.
Alfa (ALFAA.MX) said its Sigma unit will merge its U.S. operations with Bar-S, a Phoenix-based maker of franks, bacon and sliced lunchmeat.
Bar-S had sales of $535 million last year, while Sigma had close to $2.2 billion.
