SAN ANGELO, Texas — The market for lambs continues to hold at record levels, and wool prices are still the highest since the late 1980s, said Glen Fisher of Sonora, president of Englewood, Colo.-based American Sheep Industry Association.
“In the midst of challenging times, there are still opportunities in the sheep business,” he said. “With the industry on the upswing like it is currently, it is a perfect time to start bringing in new producers and encourage established sheep operations to increase their numbers.”
While visiting with Fisher during the annual Sheep and Goat Field Day at Texas A&M University’s Research and Extension Center in San Angelo last week, he told me about “show and tell” time for the sheep industry on national television next week.
