The Dynamic Duo Of The Garden

Vista, California – The dynamic duo of coleus will be in garden centers this spring and gardeners everywhere are going to be delighted. Coleus RedHead will light up the garden with dazzling bright red foliage. Add in some Wasabi Coleus for a zing of bright lime green and watch the “wow’s” fly!

Strong and vigorous growers, both RedHead and Wasabi were bred for the full sun but will also do well in shade. They will thrive anywhere that you want to plant splashes of colorful foliage. Most gardeners can expect a mature height of 22” and width of 20”. Like all coleus, these plants need moist well drained soil. Plant in a garden bed or mixed container with zinnia, petunia, impatiens or rudbeckia for even more dramatic impact.

Ray French, product manager for VIVA!, comments “These two plants are from the same line of coleus developed for full sun. Since they are related to each other they have a similar growth habit. In other words, when they are planted next to each other they maintain a similar size and shape. This makes them ideal to plant together in a row or a checkerboard pattern.“

VIVA! Wasabi and Redhead Coleus can be found nationwide at The Home Depot stores this spring.

The VIVA! program introduces a variety of new and noteworthy flower varieties into the U.S. and Canadian markets and contains a mixture of annuals, perennial and woody ‘color’ for use in home landscapes by home gardeners or landscapers. By looking at new flower breeding from around the world, VIVA! and The Home Depot bring innovative new garden ideas to homeowners from coast to coast.

Floragem is a horticultural marketing company that works with The Home Depot on the VIVA! collection of flowers grown by The Home Depot grower network and sold exclusively through The Home Depot.
