Alexandria, VA – Seed Your Future, the national nonprofit dedicated to inspiring the next generation of horticulture professionals, has announced the successful completion of the immersive experience at the heart of its 2026 Seed to STEM program.

Held June 14–17, the four-day experience brought together 30 high school educators in floral design, floral business, and horticulture from 17 states – joined by four peer mentors from Pennsylvania – for an unprecedented look inside the commercial operations that power the horticulture and floriculture industries.

For many participants, it was a first: the first-time walking through a commercial greenhouse, the first conversation with a wholesale buyer about their career journey, the first glimpse of logistics, science, and business behind the plants and flowers they teach about every day.

“These teachers already understood that an industry existed,” said Jazmin Albarran, Executive Director of Seed Your Future. “What changed is that they saw it – the people, the operations, the career paths. Now they have a genuine appetite to help industry funnel students into these businesses and careers. We can’t wait to see how that translates in their classrooms.”
