Secrets To Keeping Your Valentine’s Roses Fresh

KUSA – Valentine flowers, especially roses, will be arriving by the bunches
Sunday as sweethearts work to impress their valentines.

The special flower can be very expensive, easily costing $70 a dozen and more.

When someone shells out that kind of green for valentine red, they would like
those flowers to last for awhile, and there are a lot of household suggestions
for making that happen.

In fact, there are literally thousands of them, so we took the top six that
involved additives like 7-up, aspirin, bleach and even vodka, and set out to see
which one would help our roses last the longest.

We got six identical vases of flowers from the number one retailer of valentine
roses in the city, King Soopers, and we conducted a 10-day test to see which of
the household hints worked the best.
