A fifth-generation North Carolina farm that provides vegetables and flowers for retailers has been protected from residential or industrial development.
The Coastal Land Trust is providing the protection for the Jackson Family Farm near Fayetteville.
The 90-acre farm features cultivated fields and a scenic wooded buffer along a tributary of the South River, which is recognized as one of the state's Outstanding Resource Waters.
Crops from the farm are sold in the Triangle area.
