Santa Fe Artisanal Butter Company AGA Smör Named Finalist for Specialty Food Award

The biggest obstacle Anika Gusterman Amon faces in persuading potential customers to try her line of artisanal butters is not their quality — it’s convincing them her products significantly can improve the foods with which they are paired.

Since launching her company, AGA Smör, in 2022, the Santa Fe entrepreneur has been creating and producing several varieties of butter flavored with such ingredients as mushrooms, chiles, garlic, cardamom, Parmesan and honey. Gusterman Amon — who also serves as the head girls basketball coach and assistant girls soccer coach at Santa Fe Preparatory School — acknowledged it can be difficult to get folks to even give her gourmet concoctions a try.
