Washington, DC – The National Confectioners Association’s Young Professionals Network is calling for applications for the 2020 Future Leadership Program. Selected individuals will be provided with support, education, access, and opportunities through the year-long accelerated leadership program.
Established in 2016, the Future Leadership Program is an initiative led by NCA’s YPN Committee and supported by the Candy Hall of Fame. The program, entering its fifth year, maintains a strong commitment to the next generation of confectionery leaders.
“The program will challenge you personally and professionally to become a better leader and learn more about our incredible industry,” Steve Casey, 2019 Future Leader and National Sales Manager for Melville Candy Company, said. “From full access at all of the events to the mentorship program, the NCA Future Leadership Program gives you all of the tools and opportunities to grow and open doors that were never possible.”
Fostering industry growth and career advancement, NCA’s future leaders will engage in a formal mentorship with a specially-selected member of the industry. Future leaders will also attend NCA’s annual signature events (the State of the Industry Conference, Sweets & Snacks Expo, and Washington Forum), all offering exceptional professional development opportunities. In addition, the class of 2020 will attend Candy Hall of Fame weekend, where they’ll be able to establish relationships with current leaders of the confectionery industry.
“If there is any part of you that says to apply and get involved, I promise there is no better time to do so,” Casey said. “You will be welcomed by all of the leaders of the industry and involved in every current topic the NCA focuses on today – you will not be disappointed with the results.”
The deadline to apply is October 18, 2019. Employees of NCA member companies and qualified retail customers who are 40 years old and younger are eligible to apply. More information about the Future Leadership Program and the application process can be found on NCA’s website.
