POMPANO BEACH, FL. – Kingston Cross Dock and Cold Storage (KCD) is preparing for another busy import season at its third-party cold storage facility located in Pompano Beach, Florida. Strategically located along the I-95 corridor near Port Everglades, the facility is equipped to handle a wide variety of international programs and customer services including temperature controlled storage, product consolidation, repacking, direct rail car shipments, and trucking to and from the facility.
“Our facility is fully certified by industry regulators to ensure food safety and the highest quality services. Our annual inspection scores continue to climb each year and we are now a PrimusGFSi certified facility—something we are very proud of at KCD,” explained General Manager, Dennis Carroll. The cold storage facility offers importers, marketers and distributors of fresh vegetables and fruits unparalleled commitment to customer service. “Service is our #1 priority,” states Carroll. “That being said, our other advantages include forced air pre-cooling, a 28-door loading dock, 12 individual temperature-controlled rooms, as well as dry storage and office space.”
Kingston CEO, David O. Kingston, adds, “With the steady increase of imports into the United States, our facility is perfectly situated to handle our customers’ growth by providing excellent service at competitive rates.” Kingston added, “KCD has learned that the more services available at the facility, the more opportunities to service our customers and build long term relationships. Location is also critical and with quick access to the I-95 corridor, we make it easy for trucks to get in and out of South Florida.”
Founded in 2007, Kingston Cross Dock & Cold Storage operates the over 70,000 square foot facility year round, making it ideal for both seasonal and annual program storage. Beginning in 2011, the facility expanded into produce exports to compliment its growing import storage business. Other facility attributes include being PRIMUSGFSi Certified, rail siding with direct temperature controlled unloading, OSHA trained personnel, and an in-house quality control department. All product inventory and billing are maintained using state-of-the-art computer technology.
