Emerson Supports Salad Bars To Schools Initiative

Watsonville, California — Continuing its commitment to promote food quality and freshness, Emerson (NYSE: EMR) announced today it will once again sponsor the upcoming Tour de Fresh, a four-day cycling event that raises funds to benefit the national Salad Bars to Schools initiative. Emerson’s sponsorship will outfit the Tour de Fresh crew with branded technical t-shirts along with providing a 10×10 rest tent area for the cyclists participating in the fundraiser.

The mission of the initiative is to place a salad bar in every U.S. school food service program so all children have daily access to fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and healthy proteins. Since 2014, the event has raised more than $600,000 and funded equipment at over 200 salad bars around the country. This year’s event takes place July 22-26, with the ride starting in the stunning mountain ski resort of Kirkwood, California near South Lake Tahoe and finishing in Monterey, California.

“We are pleased once again to participate as a sponsor of the Tour de Fresh event. Supporting the produce industry and these cyclists allows us to make an impact and help promote healthy eating at an early age,” said Frank Landwehr, vice president and general manager, Cargo Solutions for Emerson Commercial and Residential Solutions.
