Washington, DC – The North American Meat Institute (NAMI) will host its Annual Hot Dog Lunch in celebration of July as National Hot Dog Month on National Hot Dog Day this Wednesday, July 19, at the Rayburn House Office Building Courtyard from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 1,000 lawmakers, congressional staff, meat industry representatives and members of the media will convene on Capitol Hill. Eight vendors are expected to serve more than 3,500 hot dog and sausage products in the company of Major League Baseball legends Jim Palmer, Al Hrabosky and U.S. Olympic Softball Gold Medalist Jennie Finch.

Baseball Greats in Attendance:
- Jim Palmer was a pitcher who played all 19 of his years in the MLB with the Baltimore Orioles and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1990.
- Al Hrabosky is a former Major League Baseball player from 1970–1982 for the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Royals and Atlanta Braves. He is currently the color commentator on Cardinals regular season broadcasts on FSN Midwest.
- Jennie Finch is a former collegiate All-American softball pitcher and first baseman and National Softball Hall of Famer. She won the 2001 Women’s College World Series and helped lead Team USA to the gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics and a silver medal in 2008.
