Stater Bros. has announced its first store in Ventura County.
The will be in Simi Valley at a site formerly occupied by Haggen, a Washington state supermarket chain in bankruptcy that is selliing off all its stores.
The new market will bring the San Bernardino-based chain to 189 markets in six other counties. Fifty-one of those stores are in San Bernardino County and 48 are in Riverside County.
