Seaboard Foods Awards Over $40,000 to Teachers’ Classrooms Across Five States

Guymon, Okla. – Students across rural communities in five states will have access to new STEM learning tools this school year thanks to more than $40,000 in classroom grants awarded to 45 teachers through the Seaboard Foods Educators Lead Tomorrow program.
Now in its fourth year, the program provides funding for innovative classroom projects that support science, technology, engineering and mathematics education in communities where Seaboard Foods operates.
“The creativity and dedication demonstrated by this year’s grant recipients are truly remarkable,” said Davida Gomez, community enrichment specialist at Seaboard Foods. “These educators are finding new ways to engage students, spark curiosity and expand opportunities for learning. We’re proud to invest in their vision and the positive impact they will have on students for years to come.”
Teachers could apply for up to $1,000 to support STEM-based education in their classrooms. Grant-funded initiatives include 3D printers, a greenhouse, butterfly gardens and interactive math resources designed to bring STEM concepts to life.
One elementary teacher plans to use the grant money to purchase butterfly garden supplies to give students hands-on experiences in science while building teamwork and critical thinking skills. A math teacher will purchase LEGO® kits to help students understand complex geometry concepts and apply mathematical principles to financial literacy problems in Algebra courses.
