PHILADELPHIA, PA (October 27, 2010) – The Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market (PWPM), providing quality, variety and service for over fifty years, is pleased to announce the launch of its new and improved website. This information precedes the Market’s scheduled tour of the new facility on November 11, 2010.

“The new and improved website allows existing and potential customers to peruse the market virtually and plan their next visit with a more user-friendly approach,” said Sonny DiCrecchio, PWPM’s president and CEO.

The Tour – November 11, 2010
As part of the New York Produce Show and Conference, where the PWPM will exhibit in booth 1406, a tour bus will depart the Hilton New York at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 11, 2010 in route for the new PWPM facility in Philadelphia, PA.

Guests of the tour will be guided through the 700,000 square foot facility to experience first-hand the variety of merchant display units, best in class cooling facilities, and maximized loading and logistics areas surrounding the building.

“This is truly the perfect time to tour the new PWPM facility,” said Dan Kane, PWPM assistant manager. “We are in the process of putting the final touches on the facility so that we can stay on target for a January 2011 move in and grand opening.”

NEW WEBSITE AND TOUR

Equipped with technologically advanced cooling systems and efficiencies, the PWPM will obtain fresh products from the same valued growers and suppliers that have provided the market with products for over five decades, but in the new facility, will have the ability to maintain the cold
chain more effectively. By doing this, customers of the PWPM will experience fresher products with a longer shelf life.
