Boise, Idaho – Many of you may have heard, but we wanted to share the sad news of the passing of Ernie Voigt on Wednesday, October 14.
Ernie was an icon of the industry, an amazing gentlemen in the truest sense of the word, and just plain fun.
In my travels and discussions with industry veterans over the last few years, inevitably, the most asked question I would get from all segments of the business was “How is Ernie?”
He was a perfect example of someone who really had a wonderful impact on everyone he touched and he has left an extraordinary imprint.
He was a perfect example of someone who really had a wonderful impact on everyone he touched and he has left an extraordinary imprint. Ernie founded Bonded Frozen Foods in 1963 with Arthur Oppenheimer which later evolved into Golbon. He was with the company for 52 years and up until April was still coming to work four days a week, at the age of 90.
He will be missed by all of us that were fortunate enough to get to know him.
