October Is National Seafood Month

PORTLAND, Ore., Sep 23, 2010 — For seafood lovers, October is a true month of celebration — it's National Seafood Month! There is no better time than now to enjoy delicious, fresh seafood like shrimp, salmon and crab cakes, and there's no better place than McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurants [Nasdaq: MSSR]. Started in the 1940s by the National Fisheries Institute, National Seafood Month originally marked a week-long event, but evolved into a month-long festivity in the 1950s. McCormick & Schmick's is celebrating by bringing back one of its most popular menu offerings, The Perfect Combination, inviting guests to create the perfect fresh seafood platter by choosing two or three seafood favorites from five seafood classics.

Starting in October, McCormick & Schmick's encourages guests to discover local seafood varieties and to pair them with McCormick & Schmick's classics such as grilled salmon, grilled shrimp and signature crab cakes, with its Perfect Combination menu special. Guests can choose two seafood favorites for $21.95 or three for $26.95. Surf and turf is another perfect combination and guests can add a Grilled Tenderloin and Portabella Mushroom Brochette for an additional $8.00. All are served with fresh seasonal vegetables.

Also during National Seafood Month, Facebook fans will have the opportunity to learn more about all things seafood and how to choose seafood from the experts — McCormick & Schmick's founders Bill McCormick and Doug Schmick and executive chefs from McCormick & Schmick's restaurants across the country. Whether they are interested in how to choose the freshest seafood in the grocery store, the farmer's market or from a menu, fans can submit questions through the restaurant's official Facebook page, starting September 21 and throughout the month of October. Answers to fan questions will be posted each day throughout the month of October on the McCormick & Schmick's Facebook page.
