The board of directors of the Southeast Greenhouse Conference & Trade Show Inc., organizers of the Southeast Color Connection, announced that the 2011 event scheduled for June 15-17 in Greenville, South Carolina, is canceled.
“After significant market analysis and discussion, we made the difficult decision to cancel the 2011 Southeast Color Connection,” said Jeff Mast, chair of the board of directors. “If you add the ‘great recession’ to the poor economic conditions and ongoing drought in the South you will get a combination of factors that affected attendance and exhibit sales. Until the economy stabilizes, it is not feasible to hold the conference.”
The event, which was established in 1993 as a regional educational conference and trade show, was originally called the “Southeast Greenhouse Conference” and was rebranded in 2009 to “SGC Presents Southeast Color Connection” to better reflect opportunities available to attendees and industry suppliers.
