Boca Raton, FL – Robert Wilhelm has launched Bova Fresh, LLC, grower, packer, shipper, broker of fresh fruits and vegetables. Bova will be handling items such as citrus, eastern and western vegetables, peaches, potatoes, onions, with strategic focus on growing and marketing both conventional and organic strawberries, as well as watermelons.
“My vision for Bova Fresh is to expand our core categories to new customers by offering innovative private labeling and packaging.” Robert also states, “As a small business owner and family man, I recognize how important it is to open the playing field up to smaller family owned operations throughout the country, by helping them take advantage of expanding their own brand by offering them private label and packaging options as well.” Robert believes that what will set Bova Fresh apart from other suppliers is their sense of urgency and commitment to providing value to their growers, customers, and transportation partners.
Wilhelm has an entrepreneurial spirit and after 15 years working for someone else as a broker, he decided it was time for a change and to focus his efforts on growing and marketing, instead of brokering. Robert, a native of Huntington, WV, got his first taste of produce working on tomato farms across the bridge in Southeast Ohio. He later attended Buckinghamshire Chilterns University outside of London, but ultimately graduated from Marshall University in August of 2000. After returning to Europe for a brief time after college to travel, he began his produce career with All American Farms, who he spent the next 15 years with. Wilhelm, married Vanessa Espinosa-Wilhelm in 2006, the couple resides in Boca Raton, with their daughter, Angelina who will be 2 in June. At this time, Bova Fresh also employs Gary Klar in Sales, but plans to expand their sales team over the next few years.
Bova Fresh, LLC is currently shipping various fresh items out of Florida, California, and Texas and will be starting their Florida Watermelon Program out of Arcadia, FL in the coming weeks. Next winter they will be shipping both organic and conventional strawberries out of Plant City, FL.
