Beloved Hispanic grocer launches annual campaign to nourish families, inspire generosity, and celebrate community this holiday season
MIAMI — Sedano’s Supermarkets, the leading Hispanic grocer in the U.S., is kicking off its annual Season of Giving, a cherished tradition that brings warmth and hope to families across South and Central Florida.
This year, Sedano’s will help more than 700 families through donations made in partnership with local organizations, supporting over 400 families in South Florida and 300 in Central Florida. Each family will receive a turkey and a bag of shelf-stable items to help them through the holidays.
In South Florida, Sedano’s is partnering with more than a dozen community organizations, including Robert Russa Moton Elementary School, Miami Palmetto Senior High, Missionaries of Charity, Knights of Columbus, Miami-Dade County low-income buildings, Hispanic Police Officers Association, St. John and St. Michael food pantries, LABA Foundation, John Bell Foundation, M.A. Milam School, Everglades Preparatory School, District 6 Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and the Miami Marlins food distribution program.
In Central Florida, Sedano’s is collaborating with the Orlando Sheriff’s Office and Orlando Police Department, which are identifying local families in need to receive these holiday meal donations.
“This season, we’re grateful to join forces with trusted partners across South Florida and Orlando to help families in need,” said Javier Herrán, chief marketing officer of Sedano’s Supermarkets. “Giving back has always been part of our story and our way of saying thank you to this incredible community.”
From Nov. 1 through Dec. 31, shoppers can purchase a $10 or $20 ready-made bag of food at participating Sedano’s stores. Each location is paired with a nearby food pantry, ensuring donations benefit families in that same neighborhood.
Sedano’s will also join CAMACOL’s Annual Holiday Food Basket Drive on December 10, helping feed 750 families, an initiative the company has proudly supported for over 25 years.
Throughout December, Sedano’s will celebrate the season at the Hialeah Snow Blast, the City of Miami Tree Lighting, the City of Westchester Tree Lighting, and the Senior Christmas Luncheon with Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez.
Sedano’s will also surprise select customers at checkout with $100 gift cards to help with their holiday shopping.
