More than 16,000 visitors from all over the world, blossoming and captivating stands, challenging speakers, the newestc trends, latest developments, and the place where growers and customers get to talk with each other. Once again, Aalsmeer Trade Fair was a great success this year.
The auction halls in Aalsmeer were laid out for this important event, where Connect to Global Growth was visible in everything. How can we keep growing as a sector? Where are the opportunities and how can we find connections that help our growers and customers further? Floriday is a great example of a means to keep growing and the launch of the new Fc588 container will certainly contribute to a reduction in chain costs. Floriday – where are we now?
Gerhard van der Bijl, Chief Digital Officer (CDO): "With Floriday, we're creating new opportunities for our growers. The digital infrastructure that we're setting up must be robust, so that the sector can build on it and we're investing heavily in features designed to make trading easier and better for our growers . At the beginning of next year, for example, growers will be able to make use of two new apps in Floriday: Hortiheat and Floriday insights. Horitheat enables growers to send targeted email campaigns and make order lists and offers. Floriday Insights is the 'Google Analytics' of the floriculture industry. The data provides insight into what is happening in the floriculture industry and how to respond to that."
