More than 1,000 dairy leaders are expected to convene at Dairy Forum 2017, Jan. 29-Feb. 1 in Orlando, Fla. A slate of seven concurrent sessions at the event will drill down into a wide range of important emerging topics for dairy, including the growing market for nutritional and healthy ingredients, decisions by global organizations that are affecting the dairy industry and ways to keep milk on the menu for kids.
“When Alphabet Soup Spells Trouble”
From World Health Organization (WHO) to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), an increasing number of global groups are making rules and recommendations that can create havoc in the manufacture and marketing of U.S. dairy products. Many in the dairy supply chain are unfamiliar with these organizations and their actions, but activists are manipulating them to further their disruptive policy agendas. Panelists will explain why the food and agriculture industries need to understand the ABCs of these agencies and find out why it is important to be proactive and engaged.
The panel will feature Donald Moore, executive director, the Global Dairy Platform; Ryan Ong, director of international business policy, the National Association of Manufacturers; and Daniella Taveau, global regulatory and trade strategist, King & Spalding, an international law firm. John Allan, IDFA vice president of regulatory affairs and international standards, will moderate.
