On a foggy morning in late-October of 1966, Noreen Sims reported for her first day of work at Procacci Brothers Sales Corporation. Just 16 years old, Noreen was a recent graduate of the St. Monica Business School in Philadelphia. At the time, St. Monica offered gifted students an accelerated path to the business world. Their challenging program provided intensive business training and an opportunity to earn a high school diploma over just two years of secondary education. At a time when her friends were learning Latin and dreaming about junior prom, Noreen was eager to make an impression and earn responsibilities at a rapidly growing wholesale produce company. And responsibilities she received. During Noreen’s 50 years with Procacci Brothers, she has held so many positions within Procacci’s Accounting Department that it’s difficult to name ones that hasn’t. Noreen started as a Secretary and ascended to many other titles including Stenographer, Payables & Receivables Clerk, Billing Manager, Personnel Manager and Business Office Manager.

As Noreen enters her sixth decade with Procacci Brothers, she has no plans of slowing down. “I’m so grateful to the Procacci family for my time with Procacci Brothers,” said Mrs. Sims. “It’s been a pleasure working with each and every one of my co-workers. I hope to continue for quite a while longer!”

October 28th marks the anniversary of Noreen’s employment with Procacci Brothers. On October 17th, Noreen’s accomplishments were recognized during a surprise celebration at Procacci Brothers’ headquarters in South Philadelphia. During the celebration, the company's only outranking employee in terms of longevity, Procacci Brothers CEO and co-founder, Joe Procacci, shared a story of the immediate impression that Noreen made with the company. He also expressed his gratitude for Noreen’s many contributions to the company, “Thank you for all of your loyal years and God bless you,” said Procacci.

Procacci Brothers’ President, Mike Maxwell, spoke of how even in a company with many long-tenured employees, Noreen sets herself apart from others.

“We work in a family business and we spend so much time together that we become family. We have many employees with 20 years and beyond at Procacci Brothers, but 50 years with one company is a level of service and loyalty that you just don’t see. Noreen is an inspiration to us all,” said Maxwell.
