SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Gem-Pack Berries and Plant Sciences Genetics (PSG) invite attendees of the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show to experience the excitement surrounding the new Rejoice™ blackberry platform. Visitors can sample two beverages — Blackberry Honey Tea and a nonalcoholic Blackberry Colada — at Booth No. 2053.
Created exclusively for the show and made with fruit from the first Rejoice-branded variety, the beverages offer attendees a taste of a new standard in blackberries. The drinks will be available at Booth No. 2053 during the expo, October 15–16 in Orlando, Florida.
The Only Proven Year-Round Primocane Blackberries on the Market
Rejoice primocane blackberries bring new genetics to the supply chain, optimized to support a steady, year-round supply of fruit. The first high-yield variety released under the Rejoice platform is now in production with shipper-marketers and is available in clamshell packaging.
The blackberry requires no chilling, making it suitable for a variety of climates, altitudes and planting dates. With low to no reversion and a shelf life of more than 13 days, Rejoice blackberries are helping make year-round promotional programs possible.
PSG works closely with industry partners to demonstrate the value of Rejoice-platform genetics. Early partners, including Gem-Pack and Well-Pict, grow and test Rejoice varieties as PSG brings them to market. At the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show, PSG is joining Gem-Pack Berries, which helped field-test the first Rejoice blackberry before its official launch.
PSG and Gem-Pack will offer attendees two co-branded beverages and share information about Rejoice blackberries.
“Gem-Pack has forged a strong partnership with PSG and other innovative berry genetics enterprises to continuously offer a vibrant, retail-focused varietal lineup,” said Michelle Deleissegues, senior vice president of marketing.
“Many varieties look great in a breeding plot, but the impact of our genetics becomes real when a partner can grow it, pack it and ship it to a buyer,” said JP Thompson, commercial vice president of PSG. “Partners like Gem-Pack help us confirm the exciting specs we’re seeing from Rejoice blackberries. We’re thrilled to join them at the IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show.”
