Group Members convened in Richmond Virginia, the hometown of Legacy Foodservice Alliance, to discuss industry trends, best practices and strategic sales-building opportinities.

The Legacy Mid-Year Executive Conference took place June 14 – 16, 2016 at the historic Jefferson Hotel.  Over three days, Supplier and Distributor Members collaborated, exploring ways to improve realtionships, strengthen group loyalty, and grow brand penetration within the group’s  operator customer base.  “Creating an environment where Members can have open, and honest dialogue is the cornerstone of this conference” said Steve Push, CEO.  “These conversations are key to building relationships and profitability for Legacy Members – and this is just one of the events we sponsor to differentiate Legacy from Distributor Buying Groups.”

The conference also featured a targeted educational program, moderated by Barry Friends, Senior Principal for Technomic, a leader in research and consulting for the foodservice industry.  Mr. Friends shared the findings of Technomic’s comprehensive look at the $100B+ Independent Distributor segment of the foodservice industry.  Friends then lead a forum on Distributor Best Practices that generated spirited and fruitful discussion between Distributor and Supplier Members.  These best practices are a collection of some of the imperatives that the Technomic study delineated for the continued success of Independent Distributors in the next decade.  Friends commented, “You don’t often see this kind of interaction in our industry —  where members of a group can get in a room and have conversation and  a debate like this – this is really good stuff.”  He added, “You can feel some tension – and that shows the passion that the Members have for what they do, and what they are a part of.”

“Legacy’s underlying  mission is to provide the environment through which supply chain partners can connect, share, sustain, succeed, and thrive.” said Push.  “We will continue to engage with our Members to create a unique group environment – combining state-of-the-art technology, industry best practices, and high-touch customer service, to help foster success for all Members.  Distributors and Suppliers are all Members here.”
