Tampa Bay's first Safeway store is up and running, following a $10 million renovation that added luxury touches to its storefront as well as a digitally integrated shopping experience.
The former Albertsons store at 10500 Ulmerton Road in Largo reopened Saturday as a Safeway store.
Albertsons and Safeway merged in January 2015. The company announced in January 2016 that it would convert its three remaining Albertsons stores in Florida to the Safeway banner.
