COSTA MESA, Calif. – Grapes from Mexico, the category leader from May–July, has announced the launch of its spring marketing campaign, “Snack On! with Grapes from Mexico.” The integrated campaign will include trade and consumer outreach designed to build awareness and drive purchases during the fruit’s 10-week season from May to early July.
Grown in the rich farmlands of Sonora, Grapes from Mexico play a vital role in the year-round supply of fresh, top quality grapes. As the first grapes of the spring season, Grapes from Mexico allow retailers to provide consumers with outstanding quality and delicious flavor, two primary purchase drivers for grapes. “We have the supply to support retail needs throughout the spring and early summer, and just when retailers need it, Grapes from Mexico infuse new freshness into the category since we pick daily and use no preservatives,” said Juan Laborin, General Director of the Asociación Agricola Local de Productores Uva de Mesa (AALPUM), the local association of table grape growers in Sonora, Mexico. “We are projected to grow 25 percent over the next five years so the industry can continue to count on us for volume, quality and freshness,” added Laborin.
Coming off a long, tough winter, consumers will be looking for fresh, healthy choices as they recharge this spring. The “Snack On!” campaign serves as a rally cry for today’s active families who want a great-tasting, convenient snack that’s also good for you. The trade component includes a Retail Display Contest in support of key spring/summer holidays like Memorial Day, Father’s Day and Fourth of July, as well as educational materials and best practice insights. The consumer campaign includes a power-packed marketing program featuring an online sweepstakes with weekly prizes on the brand’s microsite and Facebook page, online advertising, targeted email marketing and influential blogger outreach.
Given that grapes have been the third-most popular fruit for nearly a decade, the availability of Grapes from Mexico enables retailers to keep sales strong by delivering:
- Fresh, deliciously sweet grapes during the spring season
- Exceptional quality – over 75% are graded as “US Fancy”
- Quick delivery to the U.S. market as the closest imported grape
