Monterey Mushrooms Names Mike O'Brien Vice President Of Sales & Marketing

Watsonville CA – Mike O’Brien will be joining Monterey Mushrooms Inc. as Vice President of Sales and Marketing reporting to President & CEO Shah Kazemi, effective November 10th 2014.
O’Brien recently retired from Schnuck Markets after a stellar 42 year career which included the past 14 years as Vice President of Produce & Floral. He received the Donald O. Schnuck award for Customer Service in 2011. Kazemi says, "Mike’s unique skills and insight, ranking from extensive retail experience, category management, consumer trends to leadership qualities, will enhance our efforts to accelerate Monterey Mushrooms' growth. Mike will be an outstanding addition to our leadership team”
O’Brien, who received his MBA from St. Louis University, was the named "Produce Retailer of the Year" by Produce Retailer magazine in 2006, The Packer “Marketer of the Year” in 2009, and was awarded the inaugural "Bob Carey Leadership Award" by the Produce Marketing Association in 2012.
O’Brien was chairman of the Produce for Better Health Foundation in 2007, and chairman of the Produce Marketing Association in 2011.
At Monterey Mushrooms Inc. O’Brien will oversee the sales, marketing, and customer research aimed at further developing the Monterey brand. “I am excited about the opportunity to work for Monterey Mushrooms.
