Weis To Close Two New York Stores

Weis Markets will close two of its Broome County stores this summer.

In a statement Wednesday, the Sunbury, Pa.-based food retailer said it will shutter stores at 279 Main St. in Binghamton and at 560 Harry L Drive in Johnson City. Weis officials declined to provide a timetable for when the locations would close but did say the two stores were underperforming.

Weis employs a total of 79 full- and part-time associates at the two locations.
